Donate to Health World Education’s Horsense Program.
Horsense is a transformative equestrian camp for youth ages 9–10 who might never otherwise experience the power of horseback riding. Operated by Health World Education, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to children's health and safety, and proudly supported by the Scottsdale Charros and MacDonald’s Ranch, Horsense empowers kids through hands-on learning, mentorship, and life-changing experiences in the Sonoran Desert.
Horsense is offered through five camp sessions each year, with every session running five weeks long. Each Saturday, campers take part in two enriching components: equine instruction and life skills classes. The equine program—developed by World Equestrian Champion Al Dunning and led by head instructor Barbara Hanes—teaches students horse safety, care, and basic riding skills. Life Skills sessions include first aid, desert survival, teamwork, and substance abuse prevention education.
High school mentors from schools like Notre Dame, Brophy, and Xavier serve as buddies to the campers, while volunteers from across the Valley support the program as Camp Crew, Ride Crew, and Life Skills Educators. Together, this community fosters a powerful learning environment where children develop respect, responsibility, confidence, and character.
Your gift opens the gate to confidence, character, and opportunity. Give today—and help a child ride toward a brighter future.
